Trainings, patrols, tryouts and the rest, and how attendance counts
Officers and above schedule events on the Events screen. Each one is posted to #events on the Discord server and put on the server's Events tab, where Discord reminds you. The site is where an event is made, changed and cancelled; the Discord copy follows it.
- 01Open the event and say whether you are coming.I am coming, or I cannot make it. You can change your answer until it starts. Members see who is coming; visitors see only the count.
- 02A division mark means it is for that division only.Members of that division can say they are coming; so can officers and above, who may be watching. Everyone else can read it and nothing more.
- 03Turn up.After it starts, the host marks who came. That marking is your attendance: it shows on your profile and your account, counts on the Most present list, and is what command looks at when they look at activity. Saying you are coming and not coming counts for nothing.
- 04Read what happened.The host can write a short report when marking attendance. It is shown on the event to signed-in members.
Times
Every time on the site is shown in your own time zone, read from your device. The Discord copy does the same. If a time looks wrong, check the zone your device is set to.
Your own calendar
The Events screen has a Subscribe in your calendar link, which puts the Empire's calendar into Apple Calendar, Outlook or any app that takes a subscription, and keeps it up to date on its own. Google Calendar takes the same address pasted in under Other calendars, From URL. Each event also has an Add to calendar button for a single entry.
Kinds
Training, patrol, tryout, operation, inspection, ceremony, meeting, or something else. The kind is a label and an icon; the rules are the same for all of them. An inspection's result is also posted to #inspection on the server when the host marks it.
