Appealing a punishment

Public

What each punishment does, where it reaches, and how to appeal one

Punishments are issued by staff on the site and nowhere else, with a reason you can read. They reach the game and the Discord server from here; nothing is done to you from Discord.

What each one does

  1. 01Note.Written on your file for staff. You are told nothing and nothing changes.
  2. 02Warning.On your record, where you can see it on your account, and staff see all of them together.
  3. 03Mute.On your record. In game it is enforced by the game reading your standing from the site.
  4. 04Kick.Removed from the server you are in. The game is told the moment it is issued.
  5. 05Ban, in the game. You cannot join the experience, with the reason shown on the join screen. Bans with an end date end on their own.
  6. 06Ban, on the site or both.Your account is closed to everything but an appeal, your role in the Empire group is set to Suspended Civilians, and your Discord roles are removed. A ban with an end date is lifted by the clock, and your group role is given back, unless another ban still stands.

Appealing

  1. 01Open an appeal in Support.Support, Appeal, pick the punishment if it is listed, and say what happened and why it should be lifted. A restricted or banned account can still open an appeal; it is the one thing it can do.
  2. 02The person who punished you does not review your appeal. The site refuses it. Another member of staff picks the ticket up.
  3. 03Watch the ticket.Replies are on the ticket itself, on the site. When it is waiting on you the Support item in the sidebar carries a count.
  4. 04A lifted punishment is lifted everywhere. The game, your Empire group role, your Discord roles and your account, in that order, with each step logged.

Punishments are told to #punishment-logs on Discord, without the private part of the reason. Staff see everything on the member's file; you see what was written for you.
