Collection, analysis and internal security, outside the Army
The Intelligence Directorate finds out, works out, and keeps safe. It collects what the Empire needs to know, reads it into something the throne can act on, and watches for the threat from inside. It is not affiliated to the Cyrannus Army and does not answer through it: the Director answers to the throne, and the Directorate's own command runs it.
What the Directorate does
- 01Collection.What is happening in the game, on the ground and among the people in it, gathered by agents in the field and from what every formation reports up.
- 02Analysis.What it means. An analyst turns reports into an assessment: what is likely, what is not, what the throne should know this week. The assessment is the Directorate's product; the reports are its material.
- 03Internal security. The threat from within: a member working against the Empire, a leak, a group inside a group. Investigated by the Directorate, and handed to the moderation team, the Military Police or the throne to act on.
- 04Counsel.The Director advises the throne, and a Section Chief advises a division's command when asked. Advice, not orders: the Directorate commands nothing outside itself.
What it may not do
- 01Detain nobody. The Directorate makes no arrests. It asks the Military Police, or the throne.
- 02Punish.Sanctions are the moderation team's. The Directorate's report is evidence, not a verdict.
- 03Command a formation. An agent attached to an operation is a guest of the team leader.
- 04Gather anything about anyone outside the game. The Directorate works inside the Empire's world. Personal information about a real person is never collected, held or shared, by anyone, and is a permanent ban.
Where it lives
The Directorate has its own address on the site, intelligence.cyrannus.nexus, open to its members alone: its channels, its direct messages, its members list and its ledger, every screen marked with the reader's name. What is written there stays there. The handbook guide The Intelligence Directorate's own address says how it works; the Directorate's Handling information says what may be written where.
