Historical Premise

Humanity was subjected to an extraterrestrial invasion. For the first time in recorded history, every state on Earth faced the same external enemy. National rivalries were suspended. Humanity coordinated.

The war was won.

From the wreckage of that conflict a single planetary authority was established.

The New World Order

In its founding phase the Order delivered what its architects had promised. One government. One military command. One integrated economy. One declared future.

Wars between nations ceased. Scientific and industrial capacity advanced at a rate previously unavailable to a divided world. A period of material prosperity followed.

The Tightening

The security system created to protect that peace gradually adopted a different premise: that humanity could remain viable only under continuous central control.

Surveillance expanded from an emergency measure into standing architecture. Political opposition was treated as a threat to the system itself. Movement was regulated. Information was placed under administrative control. Freedoms surrendered as temporary wartime concessions were never restored.

The world was unified in order to prevent another war. That same unity is now the source of the next one.
