The Military Police keep order. Within the Army, they enforce the standing orders and the regulations on every soldier in uniform, whatever their rank; in the districts under military administration, they police the ground on the Empire's behalf. They are a formation of the Cyrannus Army and answer through its command, and no rank in the Army is above being stopped by them.

What the Military Police do

1. 01Police the Army.Conduct in uniform, the standing orders, orders refused, weapons misused. A soldier who will not be corrected by their own leader is corrected by the Military Police.
2. 02Police the districts.In the ground the Army administers, the Military Police are the law: patrols, checkpoints, arrests, and the keeping of civilians safe from soldiers and from each other.
3. 03Detain and hand over.An arrest ends in a detention, a release, or a hand-over: to the person's own command for a matter of discipline, to the moderation team for a matter of the regulations, to Intelligence for a matter of security.
4. 04Report.Every arrest and every incident is written up, on the event's report where there was an event and in a support ticket where the regulations were broken. The Military Police do not punish on the site; the moderation team does, on their report.

Where their authority stops

1. 01The throne's presence is the Crownguard's.On the ground where the throne stands, the Crownguard commands. The Military Police assist when asked and hand over anyone they take there.
2. 02The Directorate polices itself.A member of Intelligence is reported to the Directorate's command, not arrested by the Military Police, unless taken in the act of something the regulations forbid.
3. 03The Council is not arrested in session.A Councilor is asked to step outside. Anything further is a matter for the throne.
4. 04Off the Empire's ground, they have no authority.A member of the Empire behaving badly elsewhere is a matter for the moderation team.

Command

The Military Police are commanded by their Commander, under the Sector Commander and the Supreme Commander. Their Commander answers to the Army's command for the Military Police as a formation, and for the fairness of an arrest to the record: every one is written down with the reason, and the site's audit log and the moderation team can read it.
